The evolution of Cannubi label:Barolo Cannubi - years 50 -60
Serio & Battista Borgogno began to label their bottles between the 50s and 60s years.
Despite their cellar being located in the center of the village of Barolo, they owned some vineyards and a small cellar on top of Cannubi.
Right in the heart of Cannubi, now known around the world as one of the best locations in Barolo,
Serio & Battista Borgogno dreamed of being able to build their new cellar and their home.
From this visionary and ambitious dream was born the home and the cellar of the Family on the top of Cannubi.
The cellar was built at different times, the first part in the 70's.
After they transferred part of the cellar to the top of Cannubi Serio & Battista were strongly convinced that
it was necessary to comunicate the identify and origin of their grapes and they make a special label
for communicate the uniqueness of the position of their cellar and their vineyards.
They had already learned the importance and uniqueness of Cannubi and they believed in
§a label that it could convey an authentic and recognizable image that would have accompanied the growth of the Cellar over the years.
That's why they decided to clearly indicate Barolo Cannubi on label and use a drawing
depicting their new cellarand the Vineyard facing south, now called Battista vineyard.
After several drafts and drawings they decided to represent the summit of Cannubi, where they triumphed their new cellar to exalt as,
at that time, but still today, they were the only winery to have vineyards and cellars in the heart of Cannubi.
Our wine tells about Us,
a family that for five generations believe in the history and traditions of its territory.
